Getting enough Protein?

PROTEIN
It's one of the top food groups you need. Forget the pyramid! (in my opinion)

For general health, make sure you get at LEAST half (50%) your body weight in grams of protein. EXAMPLE: If you weigh 200 lbs, then get 100 grams a day for over all health. That's about 34 grams of protein per meal (3 meals).
If you want to convert your body from fat storing to fat burning then try 3/4 (75%) of your body weight in grams of proteinEXAMPLE: If you weigh 200 lbs, then get 175 grams a day for over all health. That's about 58 grams of protein per meal (3 meals).
If you want to build muscle and you lift regularly (please consult physician before starting this on your own) then try the total (100%) pounds of your body weight in grams of proteinEXAMPLE: If you weigh 200 lbs, then get 200 grams a day for over all health. That's about 67 grams of protein per meal (3 meals) or 50 grams in 4 meals.

Now for many of us, that's a lot of protein!
Even the 1/2 body weight in grams one...

Where are you going to get it? I personally was challenged with this until I discovered the delicious, ease, and benefits of making a daily shake. It can be meal replacement or for a snack and some days, there is no guilt in having two a day!

The best is to use a "plant based" (or vegan) non-soy protein shake/smoothie powder and have fun!

Seriously, you do not have to have the same boring drink daily and you can still eat! You don't have to live in liquid meals. LOL! You can flavor it and add variety!

One of my favorite recipes is to add: ice, coconut milk (unsweetened), and a plop of Almond or Macadamia butter! Mmmmm. Healthy Shake and keeps me full for HOURS!!!

16g protein per scoop!!
(about $3.50 per 20 oz shake!)

I use my Nutribullet to mix ingredients.

Have a shake with a meal. Salad with tuna is an example or lettuce wrap, Have you tried a Muffin in a Mug (close to 30 g per muffin)?

CHEERS!
